Mac Os Dock For Windows 10

There’s always been a rivalry between Apple’s MacOS and Microsoft Windows. Over the years MacOS has held the reputation for the most user-friendly interface, with Windows considered the more utilitarian system. Modern Windows has come a long way from those early days and really is on par now with what Apple has to offer.

El Capitan Transformation Pack will provide you with all new MAC OS X El Capitan user experience such as theme; system resources, wallpapers and new OS X features combined altogether working on Windows platform from Windows XP to up to Windows 10. However, after all these years Microsoft still doesn’t provide a Mac-style dock in their operating system. But there are third-party options you can try if you really want a dock on your PC.

RocketDock

RocketDock has been around for a long time now. In fact, the developers who made it haven’t released a new version since 2008! Yet somehow people still love this spunky little app launcher.

RocketDock still looks pretty good despite more than a decade without a facelift. You can however give it different skins, even using ones from other launchers such RK Launcher and Objectdock.

Oct 11, 2019  When you take a screenshot in macOS Mojave or later, a thumbnail of the screenshot appears briefly in the lower-right corner of your screen. Take no action or swipe the thumbnail to the right: The screenshot is automatically saved to your chosen save location, which by default is the desktop. The Macintosh operating system has always made it easy to capture a screen shot. A screen shot is an image of your computer desktop or an active window. Here's a summary of all the keyboard shortcuts you can use to capture your screen in Mac OS X. Entire screen. Keyboard shortcut for screenshot.

Adding and removing shortcuts is dead easy. It does exactly what you expect a dock to do, without any fuss and bloat. It’s also free under a Creative Commons license, so everyone should try it at least once.

Launchy

Does Launchy really count as a dock? Perhaps not quite, but this smart little application launcher is too good to leave out of a list like this one. Launchy presents itself as a little window with a text-entry box. It indexes your Start Menu as well as documents and folders. You can set up your own shortcuts and launch what you need with a keystroke.

Launchy is free and open source, so anyone can try it without any sort of obligation. There are also skins available to customize its look.

While the software is free, the developer does provide the opportunity for people to donate some cash, which would be a nice gesture.

XWindows Dock

Mac Os Dock For Windows 10

While most docks are inspired by what MacOS has done with the idea, XWindows Dock is a straight-up clone of the Apple software.

Like RocketDock, this dock hasn’t really been updated in a while and doesn’t seem to officially support Windows 10. Saying that, the dock worked quite well on our Windows 10 installation with one small issue. The dock shows up behind the taskbar.

Thisis easily fixed by setting the taskbar to auto-hide itself. This hasthe added benefit of really giving your desktop that MacOS look, butsome people may be annoyed by this issue.

Since this is a clone of the Mac dock, the way it looks and functions is pretty similar. It has however been 8 years since the last stable release, so a future update may render it non-functional. For now however, this is the closest you’ll get to the classic MacOS dock.

Winstep Nexus

WinstepNexus is one of the few dock apps that officially supports Windows10. There’s a free and paid version. It’s the free version thatwe’re referring to here.

This dock is like the basic concept from MacOS, but it gives it a real Windows flavor. It has reflective icons, support for animated icons and of course skins. It really is a very pretty dock with all manner of special effects. It’s also the only dock app with support for Windows 10’s Universal Windows Platform standard.

We also like the support for in-dock widgets and easy placement of the dock itself. Multi-monitor support is excellent, with high-DPI rendering and placement of the dock on any monitor. The Ultimate version does offer quite a bit of extra functionality, but for most users the free personal edition will be more than enough to cover regular use.

Circle Dock

CircleDock is the most innovative dock here, with its radial design lookingcompletely different from anything else we’ve seen. This is alsonot a persistent dock. Instead you press a hotkey and then the docwill appear wherever your mouse pointer is.

It’s an innovative idea and very functional, but the software was never developed to the point where it matched the likes of RocketDock, feature for feature. Still, if you like experimental UI ideas, Circle Dock is well worth trying out.

A Docking Good Time

One of the best thing about Windows is that if you don’t like something about it, you can change it with the right knowledge or tools. While Windows 10 seems to have put a damper on full UI replacements such as the venerable Rainmeter, it’s still possible to make yourself at home in smaller ways.

The concept of an app launcher or a dock on a Windows desktop might seem redundant to some. This is especially true for Windows 10. Yet, app launchers or MacOS like docks have been quite in demand over the years on Windows. This, in turn, has led to many developers to take on the challenge and deliver a good experience to users on Windows. While MacOS like docs doesn’t offer a lot to the Windows desktop in terms of features, they do add a layer of convenience. Not to mention they look much fancier than a start menu.

Rocketdock For Windows

A dock also manages to allow you to add many apps folders or files on your desktop without making it look cluttered. There’s also the added functionality that you can access these usually from anywhere without having to minimize currently open windows. There are quite a few docks available on Windows, and some of them are quite good. Good, but if your needs are limited to looks or simply an app launcher that complements the Windows taskbar. Here are two MacOS like docs that should satisfy your needs.

Rocket dock – Simple and elegant

Rocket dock has been one of the most popular dock options for Windows. The development on Rocket dock seemingly ceased years ago and there are no new features added. To be honest, it could actually use some more features. But there’s a good side to this apparent lack of features. It makes Rocket dock one of the simplest docks available for Windows. It does still have some of the basic features you might want in your dock. These include the ability to change individual icons, change the position of the dock, place it behind open windows or on top of them, etc. You can also adjust the quality of icons depending upon your hardware.

I’d suggest not to change a lot in the icon settings though since the default animation and zoom settings are quite ideal. The animations are so smooth with Rocket dock that it often feels like an integrated part of the system. It also has themes and the internet is full of them, the dock being so popular. The best place to find these is the dock’s very own website. You can also extend the functionality using docklets, also available on the website. You can also let minimized windows appear on the dock if you wish to use it like the MacOS dock. This functionality seems broken and is often not reliable though especially as long as there is a taskbar.

Also, Rocket dock will always overlap with open windows. That is, Windows will either slide over or under it, depending on your preferences. Unlike some other docks or the taskbar, Rocket dock cannot allocate a dedicated space for itself.

Winstep Nexus Dock – Feature packed, not so simple

Make Windows 10 Look Like Os X

There’s a distance between the land and the sky, as you may have noticed. I’m not getting philosophical here, but that’s exactly the distance, or difference between Nexus dock and Rocket dock. Although both of these are essentially docks, Nexus dock is perhaps the best there is for Windows. It has so many features that you’d just skip over many of them even if I did type them all out. As a result, though, it is not the easiest, most user-friendly dock around. Launching apps and adding them to the dock still works pretty much the same as any other dock. There is a bit of a learning curve if you wish to customize the dock to look and behave like you want.

It has everything Rocket dock has, such as themes and docklets, and in greater numbers even. It also has numerous features and fancy animations that Rocket dock does not have. Appearance settings such as icon reflections, icon launch animations, close animations, delete animations, the duration of these animations, you can micromanage everything. All of this does come at a price though. While there is a free version too, you’d have to shell out a few bucks for the Ultimate version which has all the features. I’ve used Nexus dock for a long long time before Windows 10 came along, and I’ve customized it to my heart’s desire. It even has a start menu button!
